When I heard apple would be doing app store ads, I thought "Great, another way only the top companies will be able to dominate the app markets!". But it seems like they are actually pretty friendly to small developers in their ad terms. Unlike Google, has anyone heard anything from Google on how to get an ad on the Play Store App? I don't think so, not to mention it would probably cost millions of dollars.

Yes, first thing that came in to my mind it was.. lets spend it all in one days for one app. But afterwards I didn't because I'm planning to use it later on a game that I want to realease. Plus that you can advertise whatever game you want. So.. since I have 2 accounts that will be 200$ that I'm planning to spend on one app for 1 week and see the results. Maybe it will boost my app in the first weeks, so that I can get ranked for something.

Hi everyone!
I made a video review of this, how to setup and my first experiment. Of course I'll be updating my findings in case someone is interested.

OK, fun fact, some major world countries cant sign up for the SearchAd (or use it) but a country called "Saint Kitts and Nevis" is on the list...island that has a couple thousand people on it.

Seriously Apple...

edit: its fixed today, so well done Apple [smile]

Still better than Google with countries that can do paid apps, lol! I'm not sure but I believe there's still some countries that can't do paid apps on the Play Store. Started out with a lot of countries that couldn't and they only added a few each year over the past 7-8 yrs lol!

Here's my stats for a few weeks using Apple's Search ads:

searchAds.jpg

I was very pleased by the low CPA (CPI), it's lower than most Android aquisition channels. $0.15 CPA is amazing, better than expected. But the downloads per day were also very low. I started out with a low bid around $0.12 CPC, but then tried to raise it to get more downloads per day, and it didn't seem to change the CPA or the downloads per day. So not sure if you can get faster downloads if you start a new campaign or not. The high Taps, and Conversion rate is what seems to make this advertising so effective. About half of the Taps or clicks, converted to a download, which is very good if you've ever tried CPC advertising of your apps. For instance I tried AdMob for an Android app a few years ago, and the clicks were like 30,000 and downloads like 300. So that like 10% conversion compared to this campaign was roughly 50%.

Anyone else can post their results?
