Hey everyone,

I recently noticed something within my chartboost dashboard. It shows that I delivered an install but didn't even get paid a single cent. Is this normal and happens commonly or not with you guys.

Thanks!

I think it's still possible on Chartboost for advertisers to pay by the install, by the click or by the impression. You might have got unlucky and had somebody pay by impression and got an install for it. As an individual impression is normally less than a cent in value that may be why you didn't appear to get anything for it.

It could be a number of other things (they might not believe the install is genuine etc) but I think it's probably that.

Do you have More Apps with your games, maybe its an install you got from Chartboost of your own game.

Yes, I agree with Grumpy.. maybe this person paid for a CPC and received an install.

Anyway... to avoid this you can block the low paying ones and just display the ones that pay high. This will increase your eCPM. How? make some Chartboost filtering.

Hi Asktolik,

There used to be blocking options before but now there are none. I have been using chartboost for quite some time now but it changed the way we target now.

No, the options for filtering are still there... you just have to enter to advanced and click on the arrow on the right side to display the menu for blocking.

I watched a video on Chartboost from 2014. Do they still allow us to set a minimum cpc, cpi? because yesterday a newly released app of mine got just over 700 downloads and chartboost only paid me $2......

Hi aus207,

No they dont allow filtering the campaigns now. And that's pretty normal the average eCPM for us is 1$. So you got paid good there!

Ouch. So my only option is to wait for a report and block all the low paying apps?... I hope its worth the pay off because admobs is much easier and pays well.

Making a filtering in Chartboost to block low paying apps can be a pain in the asss, but trust me, it worths the time invested. Using pivot tables makes things much easier for me. Make the filtering once per week works fine for me.

asktolik, Which ads would you recommend to filter out? What's the minimum impressions I should give an ad before I decide to filter it out? Thanks.

Hi again!

You'll have to check your reports and filter the ones showing lot of impressions but no clicks or no installs. There's no magic formula for that, you'll have to analyse your results. Sometimes an advertiser only displays 2 impressions per day.. but if this behaviour continues for 1 month and gives no value.. I would block it. [wink] If you have problems with your filtering, check this.

Hey @asktolik thank you for help bro. In chartboost filtering, how much installs recommend for 1000 impressions.

Hi @darshanamss333

That would depend on your category/genre. Of course, the recommended installs for 1,000 impressions is 1,000! but that is just a beautiful dream for us.
I would say something like 10-20% but.. there's no way we can control this.
