Hi all,

I notice that if I continue to add new game in my CB and Applovin accounts the eCPM
starts to decrease.

Did you guy have the same experience ?

Does the ad platform (Chartboost and Applovin) set a fix amount of money/or ads limit on each developer, so when you add more games the eCPM start to go down ?

What are you thoughts on this topic? I would really appreciate your personal experience on this.

PS: sorry for the typo in the title, I couldn't change it *eCPM

Hi Chris. It's interesting but I dont think the ad networks would purposely reduce the ecpms because they need to stay competitive with other ad networks. If it drops low then publishers will just switch to a different network. You ecpm can go up or down based on where you put ads in the game. If you show a lot of ads when the game starts for example and no one clicks on them then your ecpm will be low. Also ecpms vary through the year when advertisers adjust their budgets, so this will affect ecpm too.

Here's our ecpm from chartboost and applovin this past couple of years, very up and down on applovin, but quite stable on chartboost:

that's because adding more games affect the average. you can check the game that was getting high ecpm, it hasn't changed. but the overall average goes down because new games tend to have lower ecpm.

good luck.

Thanks Martin for the reply. The chart looked so good back in the days (~2014-mid 2015) in regards to the eCPM.[biggrin]

@Mohammed  Can you detail a bit ? What do you mean by the new games have a lower eCPM ?  By 'lowering the average' you mean the average eCPM for your portfolio ?

cheers
