Hi! Welcome to my devlog here )
We are small team of two people (artist and programmer). Making small games in free time. We have small games at Google Store but this time we decided to create something big and started Nuke Bike.

For monetisation we are using AdMob and UnityAds.

As for money we are not successeded yet, we are doing something wrong because we cant reach stable downloads and this time ads money for a year ~ 44$ . Our goal for this moment rich exposure for small games and only after that publish NukeBike. Thats why i'v accepted challenge with my self to reach 20 downloads/day for one of our games : Run Knight Run!!!
All the pain of our learning publishing skills i will try to put here) if anyone have suggestions acording to our games or how to get more downloads please comment. Every word is valuable for us.

Good luck!

Run Knight Run looks great (graphics wise).
I would put some more varied screenshots though.
The character is in a very similar animation state on the last 2 screenshots for example.

yeh..yes..character has only one animation - running) so it is hard to take a good different shot. I will work on this game later to make it more fun in gameplay..now it is more like a Dino Run game in browser. Thanks for comments )

So Hello !) if it is devlog i will write my steps here.
First i'v done (after watching Martin's youtube channel ) - read about ASO and different marketig tips.

What i tried with no result : forums posts and social media .. They give us zero downloads and no gross to any game page views. Twitter - after NukeBike first prototype we created promotion twitter account and gathered 576 followers, but posting links to google play gave us 0 - 3 downloads, because no target audience i believe. So next is facebook and vkontakte - posting links and pics is loosy method too.

What i've done today: description created with help of ASO tutorials (keyword analisis and competitors overview without any spy tools) , translations using google translate with some fixes to languages i can read or speak. I haven't done research for long tail keywords because it is just a lessons for me to watch differenvies and results . In total i've done translations to 70 languages) I dont know how much to wait for pages updated in google play search (please write in comments if you know) but if i will see changes i will post results here. Thanks for reading.

Hello) my next post is just simple as breath of clean air.. Still no exposure. 7 games translated in to 75 languages.

Hello devs! I have some results about translations to 75 languages but the are not for Run, Knight Run

I made same  translations for my another old game Jet Ski Race Club Sim 3D :

So after several days i see growing line for Nuke Bike (unreleased) also.
PS: Nuke Bike earned 1.39$ this night [smile]

This two games have long descriptions (~2089/4000 chars) and i believe they contain more keywords after using google translate. My runners and jumpers have much shorter description and they still have maybe +1 or +2 downloads a day as they had before.

Clicks : ads click grows form 1 to 9 from last night

By the way Run Knight! Run still has ZERO downloads ))

Conclusion :
Make long relevant descriptions to have more keywords and translate them into all languages (if you can make fixes to descs - make them to have more readable text)
If you have not a zero budget for games you can order description from proffesionals.

And i will continue my discovery and will share with you anyway.
My next stage is screenshots and icons improving

Yes, it is best to add your own translations, this will give you keywords in GP search for other languages. BTW your game Nuke Bike doesn't work on my Samsung Note 5. It doesn't crash it just shows a blank screen right after the "Made with Unity" screen. I will be glad to help you try to debug it if you want me to run a logcat or another version, send me a PM.

hi! I just published update and i got same error because there was delay in publishing main apk and obb. Please try again if you want to tplay game, because on my ASUS i got same bug when try to download from gp right after publication passed.

Still getting the same error. No update available on GP.

As for ASO - my translations and keywording gives a pike of dowloads in fist week.. After this pike (20-30 downloads) i have 7-10 downloads for JetSki Rasing Club)

Hey, I tried to download your game, but it's not available in Poland.

Anyway, you said that you see an increase in downloads after adding translations.
Did you mainly get the users from US? Or from some new countries for which you've added translations?
I ask, because I don't think I'd download a game with a name that was translated with google translator.
I'm wondering if other people do or is it just the fact that google increases your ranking when you add translations.

PS Free Run Knight Run translation to Polish "Biegnij rycerzu, biegnij" (the current one doesn't make any sense)

hi! I got installs from all countries i made translations. Thanks for translation. I lived near Poland in Belarus (Grodno) just near border) I think that is all about keywords trend (even if translation wiered and incorect) you show in more cases and have chance to change keyword or name like Eng: Knight + Ukr: Козак or else. It is more harder to be with Japan or China or other lannguege with hieroglyphs (they are like a lottery for my)

Don't know if you knew or not, but if you don't add a translation for your title and description for a country but you do allow it to be downloaded in that country, Google will automatically translate it with it's translation software. Only difference is when Google automatically translates it, you don't get added for all the search words in the translations. Might as well do it, it usually increases downloads by about 50% if you add translations for every country.

Are you sure it translates titles too?
Because I see plenty of games that have English names in Polish play store (your word search app for example).
They do have descriptions in Polish.
So unless someone specifically put the English name in all of his translations it shouldn't happen.

I'm not completely sure about titles but I believe it translates those too. I did use Google translate for the Polish title of Word Search. It's just the translation often uses the original name. I guess it thinks some titles makes more sense in the original language. Some languages it translates the titles more often than others too.

Hey, sorry for not writing. We launched nukebike. And I made everything i'v discovered here for JetSki (Run,Knight,Run has very small description i believe). And what i got in first launch day: 20 downloads (may be my tweeter do it or my friends and family). But after this one HUGE WAVE )) the game gets only 1-5 downloads daily. So my big startup seems to fail to get to the top. But im here not to talk about fail, to day i can speek about some monetize strategy i used in nuke bike. It was my first game which combines AdMob + UnityAds + IAP.
I published Nuke Bike to Opera Store and appeared in top (new games always posted to the top) :
1st day - 0.87$ / 305 downloads - AdMob Interstitial on entering main menu
2nd day - 0.85$ / 285 downloads - Admob
3rd day - 0.47$ / ~200 download - Admob + 0.36$ rewarded video from UnityAds

Maybe this info will be usefull for some one
