I've just added Google Play Services to one of my games for Achievements/Leaderboards etc. I don't really use Android so I don't know much about it from a users point of view.

Do games normally sign you in right at the start or do they wait. Are players normally signed in automatically or is it normal to have a sign-in button?

I've noticed if you aren't signed into Google Play it pops up quite an intrusive page asking for your email address to sign in etc that you have to press back to get out of. Is this just something that Android users are used to?

Any insight is appreciated.

I used a button to log into gps, it disappeared after you logged in and then it was logging you in automatically.
Now that I think of it, I would probably only show the login page when user clicked on leaderboards.
Ok, maybe not, because then you wouldn't be able to get achievements.
Anyway, I wouldn't show the pop up every time the game starts, it would be annoying.

Thanks, that's helpful. It tries to sign you in silently so players who are already signed in shouldn't get the pop up each time. It's just new players who'll see it on start up.

Anyone else got any thoughts on this? Thanks!
