hi all,

I thought I would tell yall about my last endeavour with Apple.

i had been waiting since the 1st of September for my Gala-X binary to be acceted, and 2 days ago it got rejected... and there reasons:

Quote:
PLA 3.3.12

We found your app uses the iOS Advertising Identifier but does not include ad functionality. This does not comply with the terms of the iOS Developer Program License Agreement, as required by the App Store Review Guidelines.

Specifically, section 3.3.12 of the iOS Developer Program License Agreement states:

"You and Your Applications (and any third party with whom you have contracted to serve advertising) may use the Advertising Identifier, and any information obtained through the use of the Advertising Identifier, only for the purpose of serving advertising. If a user resets the Advertising Identifier, then You agree not to combine, correlate, link or otherwise associate, either directly or indirectly, the prior Advertising Identifier and any derived information with the reset Advertising Identifier."

Please check your code - including any third-party libraries - to remove any instances of:

class: ASIdentifierManager
selector: advertisingIdentifier
framework: AdSupport.framework

If you are planning to incorporate ads in a future version, please remove the Advertising Identifier from your app until you have included ad functionality.

To help locate the Advertising Identifier, use the “nm” tool. For information on the “nm” tool, open a terminal window and enter, “man nm.”

If you do not have access to the libraries source, you may be able to search the compiled binary using the "strings" or "otool" command line tools. The "strings" tool lists the methods that the library calls, and "otool -ov" will list the Objective-C class structures and their defined methods. These techniques can help you narrow down where the problematic code resides.

Just goes to show exactly what they get up to. All they had to do is start up the game and they would have seen the ads on start up... So, after a friendly email stating I DO SHOW Ads, today its live on the App-Store. A nice result but definitely the longest way around the bush.

Has this ever happend to you?

really? 3 days!  What a joke...
But why approve them then, and not post them on the store? I dont get it...
I meen, I know they have there hands full with the new update and all, but come on, its not like as if it has to go through yet another series of check or something... feels rather disastrous this new update

My apps are on itunes now.... It took them 5 days to actually show games on itunes that were already on status "ready to sale".

Links to those games:

I think only the old games come in late, the new iTunes Connect interface lets you choose which binary you want to use and the binary itself goes through a check when you upload it and then you can click "Submit for Review".

Until now they handled the binary when it was "Preparing for the App Store" after it was already approved.

Hmm, in the promo screenshots you wrote "Retro style side hooter 2d" LOL [smile]

Also you wrote "achevements" and it should be achievements [smile]

Oh man, thats why I always use a spellchecker, I also miss a letter here and there.

Hi,

I am a little bit confused not. I have a game in review process at apple which has Revmob and Chartboost integrated. But I said NO to "Advertising Identifier" section thought that was something else. Should I say YES to that? That game is actually online now with Revmob I just made and update to it with added Chartboost but I don't remember which one I chose the last time[frown] Sorry I am still a novice developer and I would appreciate all the help.

Regards.

Hi buddy,

Really? I didn't think it would go through aprovel like that... Well as with all of these things you should have every thing in its place to avoid issues. Although I am a fan of "if its not broken, dont fix it", but in this case, it may be a wise idea to select that option in a future update. Dont want a your game to be going good and suddenly taken down for something this silly.

Just MHO.

Hi

Thank you for the warning I just removed 2 of my games from the waiting for review and resubmitted them by choosing the yes for Advertising Identifier. After I clicked I just chose -app showing add option and the the final option which starts with I, my name blah blah. Otherwise it didn't allow me to submit the game. Hope everything goes well. Thank you once again. I have thought Advertising Ids were to do with iADs within Apple. Anyways Thank you NKY.

Regards
