hi everyone,
recently my game got huge number of downloads through google play only.
i just want to ask as i have no knowledge about ads, i have implemented unity rewarded video ads in my game, and so far i earned $32 with 10,000 rewarded video ads,(maximum number of ads are from asia around 7000/10,000) is it really okay/normal.
I felt like its too low with 10000 rewarded video ads my game generated $32 only. i need suggestion on it. and really want to know which ad network should i implement in my next game.
I am thinking about chartboost and applovin but don't know exactly which one is better.
In my next game i will be implementing "skippable video" ads and "banner ads" , so which network you think gonna work best. guys please need your suggestion on this.

It depends quite a lot on where your users are located. For example, in the past 7 days I have almost the same amount of (completed) videos for Brazil and Russia. Revenue for Brazil however is ~35% of that of Russia.
I can only compare with my own numbers, but I would think you're doing pretty good. (better than me anyway)

How did you get to 10,000+ users? I'm currently running an advertising campaign that costs me around $3 per install.

I'd love to have the number of downloads your game has!

most of the users are from India, Indonesia, Russia i think that's the reason my game is not generating much revenue. are you using Unity ad Network in your game can you suggest me which one is better from your experience.

@Mkstar, I am using Unity's ad network. I have no experience with other networks so I cant really suggest any others that perform better, revenue-wise.

@kompleted.com, I saw your other thread but found it honestly a difficult topic to answer. I'm still very inexperienced developer in this regard, but honestly I really have my doubts about ad campaigns. Apparently it takes large sums of money to attract the amount of users you want in order to reach the top of the charts and even if you do manage to make it to the top, once the campaign is over your app most likely doesn't have the momentum to stay there for long.

A couple weeks ago one of my games, two years after release and seemingly out of the blue, suddenly started gaining lots of downloads. It went from some 5-10 per day to 1000-1500 per day. From a little over 1k downloads to a total of ~28k today. I received plenty reviews and feedback, which inspired me to create an update for the game, fixing a couple issues, adding new levels, etc. Unfortunately despite the work, downloads dropped again. It's not back to old levels, but it's also nothing to write home about either.

I really have no idea what caused that download spike in the first place, but looking at searchman.com I did find I suddenly ranked pretty good for certain keywords. However once the update was released all that was somehow lost and now the visibility score is at an all-time low. Pretty strange how an update can do that.

So to answer your question how to get a 10,000+ downloads: Plain luck? Google doing something to his indexing algorithm, alignment of planets? You tell me [wink]

@mobidus

Thank you for taking the time to write a response to my question.

I'm very happy for you because it's good to see any indie game developer get any success nowadays on the Play store.

So, some things to learn from your experience:
1. Don't update an app too often if it is ranking well. People have found that updating their app hurts ratings sometimes because every time you update an app, the previous ratings are downgraded in importance. That is probably why your app saw a hit.
2. Pray to Google 😋

I don't know too much about advertising and am just getting back into game development so I wish I could help answer your question. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences!

all those installs because of indie corner, my game planet destruction is featuring in new indie highlight section, you can check it out. google indie corner is really helpful for me as individual developer with no budget at all for marketing.

link to indie corner - https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_3001ed4_indie_corner?hl=en

you can search on google for process to apply your game for new indie highlights section.
hope you find this helpful.
