I'm looking at the statistics from a game I have in the App Store, trying to understand what is going on. I don't understand the data.

According to iTunes Connect App Analytics, most of my installs are coming from App Store Browse. I released the app months ago, so it can't be traffic from the initial launch boost.

How are people finding my game? I would think using store search or a direct link, but definitely not from browsing the store. My game has barely any traffic so I can hardly imagine it showing up in the app store rankings.

PS: The game is translated in four languages: English, Dutch, German and French. Dutch is by doing the best by far, for some reason.

I'd think the reason for this is because I'm ranking #1 for certain Dutch phrases (for example "vliegspel"). It would make much more sense if iTunes Connect was showing more installs from App Store Search than from App Store Browse, right?

Hmm, this one seems a little strange to me too. Because I think 'browse' means that the user was looking through the top charts listing, or the 'featured' section.

In the itunes analytics page does it elaborate on what 'search' and 'browse' means exactly?

A button in the form of a question mark does indeed elaborate on the terms:

App Store Browse: "Customers viewed your app or tapped to download it for the first time while browsing the Featured, Categories, or Top Charts sections of the App Store. Based on devices running iOS 8 or tvOS 9, or later."

App Store Search: "Customers viewed your app or tapped to download it for the first time from Search on the App Store. Includes Search Ads in App Store search. Based on devices running iOS 8 or tvOS 9, or later."

According to the above, certain data is only gathered for devices at iOS8+. Additionally, certain data is only gathered when the user has "opted-in" for sharing usage data. This is shown at various places throughout iTunes Connect, but not anywere near the "Traffic Sources" page, which is what this thread is about.

Look closely at the following picture. In grey, you can see the "Opt-in only" labels under some of the elements.

So some data is gathered only from opt-in users + only from iOS8 plus. Perhaps "Traffic Sources" also relies on opt-in data. However, iTunes connect does not imply this, since this is only shown on certain other pages. I'm clueless.
