My ecpm across networks has gone down by more than 30% in last 8 days.
Is it just me or because its the last month of financial year.

I know people post just questions very often. But still I wanted to ask because of decrease in mobile revenue with same impressions but low ecpm.

Pls reply.

Hey Javaexp. How are things there man. I hope all is going well.

Yeah we've started to have some bad weeks. February was lower, and we've started to drop below $100 USD on chartboost a couple of days. I was talking about this with our publishing manager and it looks like last year (2015) was similar. February and March are not so good. It starts to get better around May.

Here's some stats from applovin and chartboost for the past 3 months (Jan 2016 to March 2016 so far). You can see the drop in impressions start around the 22nd of Feb:

Here's the same on chartboost:

And our chartboost revenue (started to get a few days below $100 :s)

Did anyone else also see their downloads drop around Feb 22nd?

All the best
Martin

And chartboost (ecpm has clearly dropped since January):

Yes, I have the same issue - from the start of march earnings have been going down - hopefully twill to up. Seems to be correlated with impressions counts

here is my "all time" chart:  (click to enlarge)

Thanks for sharing BestGameStudios [smile]
Here's our You Escape Sometimes 2 chart for google play. It looks like they did an algorithm update because the downloads dropped like an anvil:

Ouch Martin, that sucks. Is that drop in You Escape Sometimes 2 gonna affect your overall revenue by much? I hate how fragile our business can be for indies.

ECPM has been a little low in the later part of Feb and start of March. Start of Feb was pretty good though.

Hey Grumpy.
Yeah it will have a bit of an impact because You Escape Sometimes 2 was bringing in some good revenue. I usually don't like it when just 1 or 2 games are bringing in most of the revenue because its so fragile like you said.

Its such a shame we didn't get the same number of downloads on iOS. That would be awesome.

@Roman - :s i think chartboost ecpm just hasn't been so good since the beginning of 2015. we still need to test out some different ad networks on our side and spread the risk more.

Yeah. It could be that during this time advertisers dont have as bigger budgets and so overall ecpm goes down.

I tried Charboost from 8/2014 to 8/2015and did't impress me at all. Complicated SDK integration, ****ty documentation and total absence of tech support. Still, the numbers were better than HeyZap's. Also, tried different manual settings and it takes almost all the time. To my experience, the best solution for now is Appodeal. They cover a dozen of networks in one account, providing higher eCPM because of auction-based algorithm.

Today for rewarded video I have 6+ networks in one Appodeal SDK (charboost, applovin, vungle, adcolony, facebook, startup and other)

If it's any consolation even AdMob ecpm has dropped since Jaunuary till now. About 1/3 or 1/2 what it was in december. But this is normal, happens every year, for me it usually starts to pick back up a bit at the end of March every year.

if possible pls post some screenshot, you can hide the numbers on the graph and just show dates and money curve.

Thanks

Sure, here you can see this year, sharp drop off in on Jan 1 and just now starting to come back up some.

dec-march-2016.jpg

Here is the year before, December 2014 - April 2015, not quite as sharp a drop right at Jan, but can see it start to pick up again end of March.

And here is December 2013 - April 2014:

Hey XdebugX, thanks for sharing. It's good to know it happens every year. Usually the same for us too. Bring on the April [biggrin]
