Hello money makers,

I have a question:

How do you guys promote your apps that you've published?

1. Organic?
2. Facebook ads?
3. Facebook groups?
4. Facebook promoted posts?
5. Your own personal website and attracting users to it?
6. Fiverr?
6.1. On Fiverr, do you have any recommendations on what to buy? Backlinks to your itunes page from Apple?
7. Google Ads?
8. Other publishers from Chartboost? (I can't connect with other publishers because my apps haven't reached 20.000 bootups - any advices?). Are there any other ways to connect with publishers?

I think the apps if they are organic they aren't at they full potential and some sort of promotion would be recommended.

Am I mistaking? Any advices?

Thank you so much for your time,

All the best,
Absinth

We mainly focus on ASO (keywords, description, icon etc). We sometimes do posts on facebook too. But we've not found any big impact from our social marketing efforts yet. Even if there was an impact we're not able to track it clearly because app store download attribution is a pain.

But I'm interested to see whats the other members say.

Hei guys,

Based on the responses above, I strongly believe that the only "good" promotion if you have 80 + apps is to ask (or let them grow organic) for reviews.

The only "sad" part is that you have 80 + apps, that's gonna take a hell of a lot time to review them all by other users.

If anybody has any other opinion, please feel free to post it,

It would be really appreciated,

All the best,
Absinth

I post about my games on Facebook(around 100 groups on 2 accounts) on Google+ and Twitter(6000+ followers)... I don't think it has any effect. I tried posting on tons od forums... didn't help eather. That is why I am promoting my new games in my old games via plugin that i made with my friend. It's the only way I know to get downloads nowadays. ASO helped a year or two ago but now it's all about how many downloads can you get in the first month so you can grow in TOP new categories.

So... if you have a very polished game with a lot of content... buy downloads on Chartboost, Applovin, Admob etc. It's the only way you can give your game a little start boost.

Here are some tips for published apps:
1.Take advantage of App Store Optimization(ASO)
Apart from SEO,it is advisable to take advantage of app store optimization because it plays a big role in ensuing that your app is ranked highly and  downloaded by many people. The first factor that affects ASO is number of positive reviews. The higher positive reviews by users, the higher your app will bu rated. This would boost its ranking thereby increasing number of installs.App downloads also important. The more the number of downloads, the more likelihood that the other users will download your app.You should also use relevant keywords. They should be placed in the title and description. The amount revenue generated by the app also matters. If your app generate high revenue, it will be more visible. This will in turn increase the installs.

2.Use social media
Take advantage of social media to promote your app.Tell people how cool it is, how it works and what the solution does it offer.Do not provide a lot of unnecessary information.Be short and precise.Social media sites including Facebook,Twitter, and Youtube.Tell them where they can find the app and encourage them to download.By doing that, the number of app download will increase.

3.Market your app
Know how to market app is important because it makes people know about your app.Come up with a budget and use different channels to spread the message.Such channels including e-mail marketing, content marketing,
relevant blogs,social media and more.

4.Use the Press
The press is an excellent platform to promote your app.Simply write a press release about your app and send it the press, both local and international. You will be surprised to note your app is the topic of discussion.

5.Ask reviews
Positive reviews will encourage other users to download your app.But some time when the app is new in the App Store, you may not have many reviews.Ask your relatives and close friends to leave reviews. What's more, buying app reviews from reliable app promotion providers is also a nice solution. You should ensure that all the positive reviews from real uses, or they will bring you some problems.

Hi there!

Facebook ads are a little bit expensive and does not have a good response unless you have a very awesome game. What I do is ASO, and localized ASO in as many languages as possible. Getting incentivized installs only helps to increase your ranking in a "temporary" period of time, which can go to 1 to 5 days. (honestly.. I don't think is worth it, besides, you put your account in danger now, in both appstores incentivized installs are penalized now) For making a User Acquisition campaign I suggest you to use Chartboost or your monetization company.
If you want to try to boost your app with traffic, I would recommend microworkers instead of fiverr.

All the ways that you mentioned are useful for app develops to promote their apps.

The best and most convenient way to market your new app is through social advertising. You have the opportunity to target your audience specifically by interests and demographics. Be aware of who your customers and make sure they are the only people seeing and clicking your ads. You can get pretty specific by trying out the Facebook ads.

The best way to lower your advertising costs and getting higher returns (in downloads for your app) while you are at it is by simply having a smaller audience who have a specific interest related to what your application offers.

Yeah, I agree social media is pretty much a waste of time. Unless you just spend a lot of time developing your social accounts with honest dialog with the followers and good content, they probably won't care what you have to say. Also social media platforms have tilted their platform to where you need to pay to reach anyone, even if they are following you. Try posting to your fb page followers, you may have over 1k followers but you will see that your post was seen by like maybe 30. I've even heard of some developers who had really good success with one of their apps (like over $500k a year) so he tried to buy some fb ads for his next app. Spent like $20k for installs on fb ads, and didn't really get anyone users that even played the game. His apps were multiplay online, so he had good analytics and after he bought $20k worth of installs he didn't really see any increase in players. So maybe to help with rankings, but it's practically incentivized from what he said about ads.

Yeah, that's what I've seen also, incentivized installs actually penalize your apps now.

Hi, there!
There are many ways to promote your app, what you have said mainly focus on the social media. I will introduce other methods for you to optimize your app.
(1) appealing icon and title can attract more targeted users to install your app, and the compelling and comprehensive description is also needed for you, because it shows the much information and functions of your app. Adding the keywords in title and description is an effective way to increase the search ranking of your app. Also, high quality screenshots can attract more customers to install your app.
(2) ratings and reviews: you must keep the quality of ratings and reviews, 73% audiences prefer to choose the app that have more 4/5 stars ratings and positive reviews. Also, if you have enough budget, you can collaborate with a reliable ratings and reviews provider to help you.
(3) do keywords research: you can create the relevant, competitive and localized keywords of your app, analyzing the keywords of your competitor is a effective way to find your own keywords. Of course, you can buy the keywords search installs in some reliable keywords provider.
(4) special websites: you can put your app on some special websites, like classified and review websites. The audiences may install your app when  they browse your app.
(5) social media: what you have said mainly focus on the Facebook, you can try the other social media, like Instagram, to advertise your app. You can add some relevant app developer to share and exchange your app with them.
(6) advertising: what you have said advertising in google play is acceptable. You can also put your app advertisement on other platforms, like forums and blogs.
I hope these methods can help you.
