Hey, Is it worth to put game on chinese game stores? (lenovo, appchina etc). I have noticed that most  players of my game are from China, but when I check on play store who downloaded my game. It says no chinese, so that means they got my game from different place, but I didn't put it elsewhere. So maybe it could be a good idea to put my game nearer to chinese player?(put it to their stores)

Another question, do chinese have wifi connections on thiers mobiles? I mean is it internet connection common in China?

hey HGames, how are you this week. sorry for the late reply.

I've heard it's worth bringing your games to China yeah. I'm based here in China and I want to start translating and publishing games here too. The market is getting bigger and the install base is massive. Check this out:

http://techcrunch.com/2013/04/05/china-app-makers/

We're talking with China Mobile now to get their payment SDK in our games.

If a lot of your users are from China they probably downloads it from a different app store.

Yeah in China wi-fi is pretty common and most homes now have an internet connection, especially in the urban locations.

By the way, have you tried uploading your game to any Chinese app store like appchina.com or 91.com?

Hi Martin, I have tried these stores that I found.
http://www.anzhi.com/
http://app.taobao.com/index.htm
http://www.nduoa.com/
http://android.d.cn/
http://open.lenovo.com/developer/
http://www.91.com/
http://as.baidu.com/
http://android.myapp.com/
http://www.appchina.com/
well, just tried. The registration to chinese stores are really difficult. Some of them want capcha in chinese letters, other wants a phone number call, other wants a QQ account(QQ registration wants a phone call), other wants a picture of my ID. So I end up with trying and wanted to ask some others if they had any experience with publishing to chinese stores, but i see they didnt.

Or does anybody here, tried a marketing campaing on chinese social websites(QQ) or some chinese forums advertising new games? I am doing this on non chinese forums and facebook. But I didnt found any forum that advertise games in china or any other forum (I mean where chinese put piracy apps)

HGames, the bigger Chinese stores have an English version, just look for a button at the bottom of the screen or google for an english version link.

Anyhow I stopped short when they asked for a mainland contact or a proxy business that is located in China.

I have some experience with Weibo and seems that their user base is largely inflated with inactive users, that
kinda made me wonder about the actual user base of anything that would be monetary beneficial eg low profits from ads
that would be pushed in the Chinese market.

hey guys.

Yeah I remember when we set up a new account on one of the Chinese app stores we had to provide some local ID card details from my wife. That was a few years ago but we've not tried it recently. I need to hire someone here just to handle this type of work and start to test out the process. They will be able to handle it much better than I can. Also our games are pretty simple so translating them in to Chinese shouldn't be a big problem. I think the biggest issue would be adding the all the local Chinese SDKs such as ad networks, and payment SDKs from companies like China mobile. It's still early for us doing this but I'll hopefully be able to share some good information soon as we're going through the process of applying for a China Mobile publishing license.

I'll keep you all updated on this.
