This is not a question but a solution. I found the key to a stable virtual android device which can install unity apk's and run at 30+ fps. This can come in handy if:

- You haven't got an android device irl.
- You want to test out multiplayer but you only have one device.
- You want to try your apps on a tablet, but don't have that kind of device (or not all sizes!)

I can update this post tomorrow with all the steps, once Martin is ok with it.

ps: No this aren't the emulators androits SDK delivers, it's a third party company!! with some mods and apps installed here and there. It took me a few days to find this out, so I want to save you guys a couple of days too [smile]

BlueStacks ?

Genymotion ?

Custom virtual machine in VirtualBox or Vmware ?

I usually never use the SDK emulators because they are slow like snail speed at any setting.

Yeps. Android SDK emulators are soooo slow. Genymotion created very stable and fast ones. You just need to hack some things to approve a google play store app on it, and make the device think it has a different processor so unity games can be approved for installation [smile]

I've sent a mail to my teacher with all the steps, but I can't find it and don't know the links to the hacking things anymore. I'll ask if he can resend it !

hey Nick, thanks for posting. Yeah this is an approved post for sure [smile]
I use Bluestacks sometimes and its pretty smooth. the main reason though is to get a video recording done of the game. It's always too slow when i record the screen directly off the device.

If you post the steps Nick, please include some screenshots too. I'm interested to see.

You know you can record directly from your android device since KitKat. I use it to record video for my games.

Yeah I tried everyplay briefly on one of our iOS games, but it seemed to slow down the frame rate on my iPod 4 generation device.

Has anyone else tried this, did you find it increased retention?
I think it would be a cool way for players to send in their scores, perhaps win a reward for the best score each month. The video would be better proof of the score.
