Hello everyone

Yesterday I published game called The Last Runner. It's an endless running game. There are still a lot of thing I need to add into this game, but it's "stable" version to play [smile].

Here is one photo of the game .

There is the link.

Game was made in Unity 3D engine. I am planning to add Admob banner ads, but since I just uploaded it I will wait a couple of days to see how many people will download it. I won't use in-app purchases.

hey mbm123. Thanks for the posting.

In your post please include some development data such as time to make the game, how much revenue it makes, how many downloads you've had so far, which engine you used, are you using ads or in-app purchases etc. just something extra which other developers will find interesting to read about.

Thanks [smile]
Martin

As Martin said, more info would be nice [tongue]

I love how you can upgrade your speed! As for the gameplay itself, it is pretty basic graphics and the ground check of the player is a bit buggy. It seems like it actually takes a time for the player to perform a rejump when you just touched the ground. I also like the running animation [smile]

Thanks Martin for advice [smile]
I am still new to this forum posting , I made some changes to the description of the post. I will post details about number of downloads but since the game is new nothing interesting has happened so far.

Well 8 days passed and only 5 downloads for now .... this is hard ... I need to figure out how to get more downloads [smile].
Does anyone tried to add description on different languages ? Will it affect the number of downloads from specific country? Maybe that can help to get a little more downloads ??? [smile]

Well unless you are planing on investing in native translations in shouldn't make a difference because Google Play automatically translates app descriptions via Google Translate. If you are looking for more downloads I would advice the following:
  • Improve the app icon - the text will not be readable on the device, go for something colourful and something that will catch the users attention.
  • You app ranks > 100 when searching "The Last Runner" so no one will be able to download it even if they search for it, try changing the name to a common search term that hasn't been taken.
  • Also don't use the icon as one of your screen shots
  • You need a longer description with your keywords. Look up Google Play SEO and that will give you a place to start. Basically you want your main keywords around 4-5 times in the description.
  • As for the game, it is pretty fun but the graphics could be improved, instead of using the default buttons in unity use your own custom ones. The music is also cool
Hope that helps and good luck!

BTW I also dropped a 5* review [smile]

@Epic, great tips. The name point is essential I think. For example, if a new developer makes a game called Blast The Candy Bubble. It's likely that they won't be found just because those words are so competitive.

@mbm123, let us know how it goes and if you see a change in downloads. It'll be interesting to see.

Chat soon guys

Can I change title in google play for this app not to be Run instead of Runner because I think that this word is more common ......
The question is : Is there some problem if the title and the name of the app are different? [smile]

It should be fine. I changed the name of my game to "Bio Fight the Infection" from just "Bio". Not had a problem.

Quick update for this app [smile] :
I changed description a little .... again ; Changed game icon .... again
For now I am slowly building downloads - I think there is around 20 total downloads for now [smile]
Thanks EpicStudious for that forum so I exchanged some reviews with other devs.

One question : How does positive (5*) reviews impact (or not) on visibility of the game on google play , cause after some review exchange I got better visibility on the market , for example : Several days ago when I type in The Last Runner it's maybe on 70-100 place and now it's on third [smile]. So is that because of the reviews or SEO ? Thanks!

@mbm123 great to hear about the progress [smile]
I think your boost in downloads was probably a combination of both good SEO and good reviews. Good reviews play in part with the algorithm google uses to rank your app when someone searches for it. Just becareful if you have too many reviews to downloads google can flag you but I don't think it would be a problem with less than 100 reviews.
Good luck with your game [smile]

Hello everyone another update post about this game [smile]

Finally I managed to remove default Unity buttons and to put 3D Text into this app. I slightly changed score meter so it doesn't depend on the size of the phone anymore ... I changed the icon of the app and  maybe because of that I started to get 1-2 downloads per day.... I hope that it will continue to grow [smile]

The Last Runner now have 40 downloads and I hope that will start to get more.
