Hi everyone,

I am currently using Construct2 for gamemaking but since it is only 2d I am planning to start learning Unity3d.  I have some questions in my mind bugging me. One thing that appeals to me is there are many plugins for monetization.

-I don't have any programming knowledge at all so do you need to know programming when making games with Unitty3d or is there a way of visual scripting like with nodes or drag and drop gestures.

-I heard that the plugins only work with pro versions so do I need to subscribe to pro version  (I guess it is 75$ monthly now) for using monetization?

-Is it easy to export to mobile platforms (ios, android etc.)

I know I sound so begginner but I really would appreciate help and guidance since Unity3d is really nice software for making games.

Regards

Hey Volcank,

Unity is a great place to start and I would highly recommend it.

1) There is a visual editor in Unity but you need some knowledge of programming to use Unity.
2) Nope, all plugins work with the free version unless they involve fancy image effects... But all add plugins work for sure.
3) Yea really easy, android is the easiest but IOS is a bit of a pain since you need to do it on Mac OS X

Good Luck [smile]

@EpicStudio Thank you so much for the quick reply. so I will need to do some programming anyways will try and do my best [smile]IOS is always problematic isn't it?? [smile] But I realise the performance of the games created with Unity in mobiles look really good and it is always good to play in 3d environment.

Ok one last question: With Construct2 I build the game with Intel XDK at the end which creates an   .ipa file and I only upload it by apploader from my Mac. Is it the same with Unity or do you have to use XCode??

Thank you so much!

Yea, I'm pretty sure that would work. Although I would still confirm with one of the iOS devs on the form since I am not really an experienced iOS Dev. I only have published a few games from a virtual box.

Good luck [biggrin]
