Hey guys. So from August 1st 2014 it was required by google that all new apps and new app updates needed to use a new App ID system. I don't know the exact was it works but pretty much of all the big ad networks released a new sdk which complied with googles new rules.

For one of our games it looks like we had an older SDK version inside from applovin.com. Here's the message that I saw at the top of our google play account:

Instead of working on the game now I've unpublished it so that we don't get any warnings:

This is one of the reasons why it's better for us to focus on fewer games but making them deeper with more content. just imagine if this message appeared in your account for all your games :s Having only a few great games means we can handle updates like this because doing plugin and sdk updates can be a real pain and time consumer.

Has anyone else seen this warning in their google play account?

hey Martin, ya its not actually google, its the governments which ask google to stop tracking people if they don't want to and hence this update was passed on to us.

I thought the Basketball category was good to be on and your game is also decent. Don't know why it got 2 star rating.

hey Java. I see. the updates are such a pain sometimes. Glad it wasn't a major task for us.

To be honest the TOZZ game has some problems. I initially designed the idea but didn't have any reference game to work from. i thought it would be easy but turned out to be super hard. So we did a new game called SHOOT THE ZOMBIE HEAD,

This was based off other basketball shot games, and it turned out much better. I think the rule for us here is: copy fun game mechanics because making a new one can take time and may not turn out so good.

Wow Martin, this game Shoot The Zombie Head Net Shot is too good. Much better than the Tozz game. The sound on releasing the zombie head is excellent and what user expects to hear.
I think you guys need to replace the zombie head with the basketball and release a Basketball shoot game. Die hard fans of Basketball game will like practicing Basketball shoot like crazy. I found Tozz game somewhat difficult to play due the obstacles in the form of blocks present in the game.
The ads in Zombie head are also done excellently in this game. No wonder it does better than Tozz game.

Hey Java, thanks for the kind words [smile] I agree, I think Shoot The Zombie Head is much better and it's probably the best game mechanic we've released. I've been playing it quite a lot recently even though it's very basic.
We actually released a version of the basketball game inside our new game called PLAYCADE:

We're now testing this new approach of adding lots of games into one game, similar to '101 Games in 1'. So far we added 4 games and we're planning to include a coin currency and unlockable features soon, but we need to have about 6 games in there first. The idea is that we can increase the ARPU with a single game file this way. I'm gonna write about this soon in the blog section.

Thanks for the support man [smile]

OK, this warning from google has now appeared for multiple apps.
Here's a screenshots from our google play console:

You can see some I haven't unpublished. This is because their last update was before August 1st 2014. The warning at the top says this:

Screen Shot 2014-10-20 at 7.27.51 PM.png
We have determined that your app uses a library or SDK (com.applovin.impl.sdk) that is in violation of the Developer Program Policy. Please note that beginning Aug 1st, 2014 the Developer Program Policy requires all updates and new apps uploaded to be compliant with the advertising ID provision of the Developer Program Policy. Apps in violation may be subject to permanent removal from the Store. Learn more.

It looks like apps which were published before August 1st don't need to be updated or unpublished, I assume. I've emailed google about this to double check and will let you know what they say. I really hope we don't have to update these games which have been flagged. Fingers crossed.

Unpublishing an app isn't sufficient, it may only get rid of the message temporarily. Google scans unpublished apps. It needs to be fixed if you don't want to risk of google taking action.
