Hello and good day all
This question is something that i didn't found answer to it yet or clues in the online forums
So there are allot of "gambling" games in the app store where you play with not real Money , i know its is build for certain kind of population .
what do you think about building those kind of games ? does any one have experience with them ? comparing to small platformers / casual games.

Hey Umen. Thanks for the post.
We publish a poker game on amazon called Pocket Poker. Its an online game where players can compete on different tables. Pretty much a standard online poker game for mobile using fake money for gambling.
My experience is that the APRU (average revenue per user) is very high compared to the casual games, more than $1 ARPU, this is on the amazon app store, no google play. Also the retention is high for our game so a lot of players come back to it. But getting downloads for the game is quite hard because its a niche area of games. We use chartboost ads but it only gets less than 100 downloads per day. So we really need to optimise our icon and screenshots to get more downloads when players search for a poker game.

I think the other slots / casino games also get a high ARPU but probably are hard to get downloads for. At the moment almost all our ads on chartboost are slots ads and so this tells us that they generally get a higher ARPU because the advertisers can pay a high CPI (cost per install).

I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes on your side and if you decide to create a slots / gambling game.

Chat soon [smile]

@Martin
Thanks for your detailed response .
well if i understand you right if you have 100 d/l per day and your APRU is 1$

you make here ~100$ each day that is great ! right ?

can i ask you what game server you are using ? and how much you pay for it ?

well i will update when i will have a direction on which category to go ,
i Surely dont want  to invest more then few months to release working beta .
also i did read that clash of clans inverst 1$ - 1.5$ on each 2$ they make i guess in the slots and poker world its the same.
Although to be as the bottom feeder of those Giant industries can be also good move.

slots and casino games are goldmine. If u can get them up and running on app stores, nothing like it. CPI is approx $1+ for slots games. Countries like US, UK, AU will give you $2+ CPI

Guys, I think you are onto something:
1. search google play for "slots" - there are a looot of results
2. scroll down, down, down until you are at the very bottom
 - the apps there still have a a ton of downloads

this app is near the bottom is the crappiest I could find:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.JR.slotmachine

yet has
100,000 - 500,000 installs yet was published only in April this year

so, definitely some opportunity

Is your info is based on something ?  the slots games in the stores since the early days , i suspect that its not enough to build slot game , you will have to invest heavily on marking .
don't you think ?

Well yes - that if you scroll down down down, all the way down, even the worst apps have tons of downloads (as described above) - I do not know what effect ad-based marketing plays, but I doubt the app I mentioned had much of a budget (it was programmer art), so if he did not invest in art, how much does one suppose he invested in marketing? especially since marketing requires art/an interstitial banner
